Every year, FBLA members have the opportunity to participate in four conferences all across the state and nation. While three of the four are centered around competitions, all conferences are a great way to meet people from different schools, gain leadership skills, and have the time of your life with all of your friends! Leadership Development Institute (LDI)
October 21-23, 2016 | Santa Clara Marriott
LDI, the first conference of the year, is a great way to get introduced to FBLA! This is a great opportunity to network with FBLA members from chapters across Northern California and learn something new about business & FBLA. Throughout the day, you will attend various workshops led by business professionals and Section and State FBLA officers. At night, you have a chance to hang out with all of your newly made friends. There will also be a chance for you to take some practice tests for competitive events! For more information, come to the first general meeting!
Bay Section Leadership Conference
February 4, 2017 | Homestead High School
Bay Section is the first level of competition. You will get to compete in your own event(s), meet FBLA members from around our area, and watch candidates campaign for section office for the upcoming year. Want to attend? Try out for competitions (more info at the third general meeting)! This year, Bay Section will be extra special for our chapter since we will be hosting it – look out for updates on how you can help plan it!
State Leadership Conference
April 6-9, 2017 | Sacramento, California
States is the second level of competition. Many speaking competitions begin at State, and you will have the chance to watch these competitions live. At the same time, travelling with FBLA is always fun, since you’re literally spending 8 hours on a bus and living in a hotel room with all of your friends. The three days of competition conclude with an exciting awards ceremony!
National Leadership Conference
June 29-July 2, 2017 | Anaheim, CA
Nationals, which takes place over the summer, is the final round of competition! Not only will you get to compete, but you’ll also have lots of time to explore and hang out in Anaheim. From flying on a plane with all of your friends, to meeting new people from all over the country (and even outside of it), you’re guaranteed to have the time of your life!
